“God allows us to experience the low points of life in order to teach us lessons that we could learn in no other way.” ~C.S. Lewis

Jesus Had to Carry His Own Cross, and He did it with no complaints!

Hot_Sauce-Pain_100_percentMany people think that because there is so much pain and suffering out there in the world that there is no God. Why would God, who claims to love us, allow us to go through so much agony and affliction? There have been several times I have wondered the same thing throughout my life. As young as nine years old, my mom told me I would run out in front of cars hoping they would kill me because of the abuse that occurred in my life at an early age.

Oh man, did I go through some torment and heartache throughout my life! Everyone experiences different types of discomfort, agony, troubles, and handicaps. No one has it easy. Some people may look at a rich person with disdain and say, “He has it easy because he never has to worry about money!” That is simply not the case. How many people do you see in the media who overdose on drugs or go through multiple marriages and/or relationships because they are unhappy with their lives? There are far too many for me to mention!

climb-1366823_960_720If we really observe what God is “allowing” us to go through, we can discover some amazing insight that might not have ever occurred any other way. I can bring up several examples throughout my life (but then this definitely wouldn’t be a shot of inspiration). I’ll leave you with this…you can look at happenings in your life in two different ways. It’s all how you accept what is thrown your way! Either you can sit and complain because you have way too many hardships and conditions to overcome, or you can take your mountain of shortcomings and obstacles and climb one step at a time to the top! baggageEither way, life goes on, but you have the choice whether or not to take your baggage and haul it on your back into the future, or pack it away in the attic of your mind and use it on days that you need it for learning purposes only.
